Featured in the latest edition of Prelude by Boston Design Guide, Gregory Lombardi Design and Marcus Gleysteen have teamed up again on a home that fully integrates into the landscape creating a private oasis for the family to entertain.
The character of both the home and landscape was to be both formal and casual, striking a harmonious balance between the two opposing conditions. There is an ethereal softness to the landscape, where plantings are not exceedingly formal or structured, but gardenesque in composition.
To maintain the client’s sense of privacy, existing mature site vegetation and ledge outcroppings were identified and carefully preserved from the onset in an effort to create a secluded knoll where the home is minimally visible from the street.
