The Principals of Gregory Lombardi Design are pleased to announce the promotion of the following individuals: Emily Guertin to Senior Associate and Ted Smiley to Associate 3. As design and management professionals, Emily and Ted are talented leaders in landscape architecture and their broad expertise reinforces GLDI’s collaborative practice.
Emily Guertin, Senior Associate
Emily’s role within the firm has been to strengthen our
presence throughout southern New England. With 15 years of experience in the
field including her 9 years with GLDI, Emily has successfully managed complex
projects in Connecticut, Rhode Island and New York. Her passion for
plants and knowledge of regional plant palettes and materials, along with a
hands-on approach to construction, result in carefully crafted spaces that have
led to her recognition in the firm and with our discerning clientele.
Having been
with GLDI for 12 years, Ted Smiley is a leader of the firm’s furniture and
accessories division delivering exceptional outdoor settings for our most
discerning clients from Palm Beach to Manhattan to New England and Cape Cod. Ted
focuses on the importance of unique and well-crafted pieces, managing vendors
and installations, attending designer shows across the US and Europe, and
designing some pieces himself. He has a passion for spaces that people closely
inhabit and experience first-hand including urban roof decks and terraces. As a
former board member of the Cactus and Succulent Society in Massachusetts, Ted
brings his knowledge and love of arid landscapes to these often extreme
environments. Over the last 20+years, Ted has helped design, install, and
maintain over a dozen annual public garden beds as part of The Goldfish Pond
Association in Lynn, MA.
