Gregory Lombardi Design is an award winning landscape architecture practice founded in 1992 with a simple mission: To craft magnificent outdoor spaces for highly discerning clients. Eschewing any single style, our design philosophy calls for the fresh interpretation of classic, timeless principles of order and proportion to create meaningful spaces for our clients. Our aim is to create environments that enhance their surroundings, inspire their inhabitants, and awaken the imagination—all while responding to an articulated financial plan.
Gregory Lombardi
Founding Principal
The creative force behind Gregory Lombardi Design, Greg brings a passion for timeless design and meticulous detail. He approaches each project as a narrative, weaving together architecture, nature, and the client's vision to create enduring and enriching landscapes.
Deeply inspired by New England's cultural heritage, Greg finds profound resonance in its authenticity. He's drawn to the region's hardscrabble, practical, and honest nature, where the visual landscape reflects a resilience born from a challenging climate. This creates a powerful, rational, often spare, yet deeply genuine beauty. His design philosophy is rooted in an appreciation for pragmatism and the enduring power of place, where meaning is etched into both built and natural forms, reflecting the timeless values of New England.
Greg’s commitment to craftsmanship and narrative is reflected in every project, from intimate urban gardens to grand coastal estates. He takes pride in the firm's ability to create meaningful places at any scale, citing a meticulously detailed Commonwealth Avenue garden and a contemporary Florida project.
Greg is deeply involved with various professional, environmental, animal welfare, and historical organizations, highlighted by his longstanding membership on the Board of Trustees of Historic New England. A graduate of Hamilton College and the Harvard Graduate School of Design, Greg is a licensed landscape architect in Massachusetts and Connecticut.
