In His Element: Gregory Lombardi at The Lyman Estate

Gregory Lombardi recently met up with Melanie Perillo and her team from Boston Design Guide for a fun afternoon chatting up the importance of design in the Boston region. While strolling the Lyman Estate in Waltham and peeking into their treasured greenhouse, Greg shared why working with Historic New England is so important during this time of overdevelopment. Their mission to save and preserve some of these grand estates rings true with Lombardi as well.

As a Board of Trustee for Historic New England, Lombardi continues to raise awareness within the industry. “Design professionals should be interested in the history. We all draw on it. It’s part of our collective memory.” Lombardi believes that if people find something in these properties, they will support them, which is why he recently held his 25th Anniversary Party at the Estate. “Places matter to me,” he says. “And when something is cherished by many, it is preserved.”
